The Theatrical Version
The Theatrical Version of “Freedom” is a story-driven short film Music Video of a fictional character Lexi Steven, a 36-year-old, hard-working waitress in an abusive relationship with rock guitarist Dylan Cooper. She has many memories with her loving father but struggles with finding the strength to break free from this toxic relationship. It’s a story of hope in a grave environment! This story creates ties with our relationships with the world apart from God and the sacrifices we need to make to break free of the bondage we’ve allowed ourselves to be slaves.
Award Winning Video
Freedom Short Film Music Video has screened at the “Silver State Film Festival” and one “Audience Choice - Best Music Video” and “Best Music Video” at “Reale Film Festival” in Los Angeles. December 2021, Freedom Picked up 4 awards at the prestigious “Accolade Global Film Competition” including Top honors for “Best Music Video”, Best Original Song”, Best Director” and “Best Cinematography.”
The Purpose
The purpose of creating a theatrical version was to tell a larger story with a short film version of the video. The band wanted to create a story with depth and emotion to speak the truth of freedom as a choice worth fighting for. “We wanted something that could speak to people in tough situations, encourage them to choose a better, much more rewarding path than compromise.” says writer/director C.G. Ryche.
Casting Hollywood
Casting for “Freedom” was held through C.G. Ryche Films and featured some stellar performances from some accomplished actors and actresses you may recognize. The purpose of working with such talent was to make the story convincing and believable.
