The History of IronWrath
This is a chronicled timeline of the story of IronWrath.
1983-1984
Sean Silas and Steve Bell first met as band members in a local Riverside band called "Freewill" in 1983. They played many shows in the local scene with original material. They grew together as guitar players before combining forces with singer Keith Miles and renamed the new "Holy Right." The band played many more festivals and churches and made a name for themselves locally as a band to see.
In 1983, C.G. Ryche was invited to his first rock concert, "The 1983 U.S. Festival," with a friend whose dad was working the show. C.G. saw drumming icon Tommy Aldridge perform with Ozzy Osborne. When he saw Tommy's drum solo, C.G. was blown away and knew that's what he wanted to do for the rest of his life, and he began playing drums. In 1984, C.G. received Jesus Christ as his savior, quit a secular band, "Screaming Knights," moved his drums to a basement at Calvary Chapel Redlands, and started to woodshed.
1985
In 1985 Freewill merged with singer and songwriter Keith Miles to form the Christian powerhouse "Holy Right." The band made a name for itself, playing festivals and churches and opening for larger, more established groups in the L.A. area.
1986-1987
C.G. Ryche met Sean & Steve in 1986 when Ryche attended a Holy Right concert. "I was impressed with the band and befriended Sean immediately after the concert," says Ryche. Later on, The drummer had a falling out with the lead singer, and C.G. became the new drummer of Holy Right. Ryche and Silas' musical styles immediately hit it off, forming a harmonious union that holds close to this day.
1988-1990
After two years of touring with Holy Right, the band felt it necessary to part ways with their former singer. The band wanted to stay together and form a new band with a new singer. After many different names, the band came up with the name "IronWrath." The band also adopted a much harder and more theatrical style moving forward. From 1988-1990 the band played several festivals, including "Cornerstone Festival," before parting. IronWrath also began working on an E.P. called "Circle of Iron" with four songs on it, including the band's single "The Stranger," which was a heavy "Black Sabbath" type song that made its way the the "Underground Metal II" compilation CD released later. IronWrath would disband in 1990 for personal reasons, but Steve, Sean & C.G. remain friends.
1993-1995
In 1993 the band would re-emerge with a much more refined sound and new members after taking three years off. Led by C.G. & Sean, IronWrath would go on to Headline gigs and venues, including "Knott's Scary Farm" in 1995. The band was taking a second try at working on its full-length album "The Master Storyteller." Late in 1995, after taking for months in "Rick Thompson's - Shelter Studios" (Drummer for Sweet Confort Band), The band disbanded for a second time for lack of having and finding the right members.
C.G. Ryche
(1996-2020)
C.G. became a successful producer and, later, a world-renowned percussionist performing and drum choreographer, touring with artists including Benise, Wayne Newton, Ambrosia, and as successful solo artists. Ryche has headlined Las Vegas and choreographed drums for the NFL, Hollywood Pictures, and H.P. computers. C.G.'s concert DVD "C.G. Ryche - Echoes of Silence" aired nationwide on PBS for many years. Ryche is touring with his large theatrical concert production "Mystic Rhythm" and is an award-winning film director, writer, producer, and composer. Ryche is a branding & marketing strategist for large companies.
Sean Silas
(1996-2020)
Sean Silas remained to record and tour with several metal bands, including Mach 10, Lithium X, Ryatt, and his Hour 11. Sean has also produced several solo projects working with Robert Sweet and Phil Collins of Def Leppard.
2018 - 2021
In 2018, Sean & C.G. made a deal to produce the album of IronWrath that was never made… "Master Storyteller." Due to financial struggles and personal hardships, IronWrath prolonged the project to 2021. God opened the door in 2021 for the Band to move forward with the project. Sean & C.G. immediately contacted founding member Steve to rejoin Wrath for this project. IronWrath would begin writing and recording their upcoming album. IronWrath also began to work with Eddie Ayala to be the frontman of the Band and released the song Freedom with a video. The video won several awards in the film industry and was screened at several prestigious film festivals.
2022
In 2022 the Band let go of their former frontman Eddie Ayala and brought on a world-renown established vocalist as a "Work for Hire" to deliver the vocals the Band was looking for. The new vocalist was to become part of IronWrath, but things went south overnight after finishing the recording portion of “Master Storyteller” with the singer parting ways with IronWrath. This became a major setback, but a good one forcing the Band to push forward.
2022 - 2023
With the album nearly finished, IronWrath brought on Anton Petrenko from Israel as the new frontman & singer. We quickly rushed Anton into the studio to finish up loose ends and get him on a couple of tracks of "Master Storyteller" before mastering. We also added Bassist Johnny Blackout to complete IronWrath’s lineup. IronWrath started fresh with their new band members and released a new music video, "Master Storyteller," in December 2022. On May 31, 2023, IronWrath released their debut full-length album… “Master Storyteller” which many hailed as album of the year!
2024
After nearly two years of relentless hard work and dedication, IronWrath hailed as the "Cinematic Masters of Metal," has triumphantly completed its magnum opus concert experience, IronWrath’s Master Storyteller. This monumental project marks a new zenith in the band's vision to take audiences to new heights in their artistic endeavor.
